In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Sarasota; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Florida are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
The business lists hours on 1 day of the week. Typical hours are 11 AMβ10 PM. It is closed on Tuesday. Sarasota is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Sarasota follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

My family and I were in the mood for Chinese food, so we decided to give this place a try, and it was definitely worth it. We ordered the Kung Pao chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and chow mein to share. The Kung Pao chicken had a nice little kick without being overwhelming, and the chicken stayed tender with plenty of crunchy peanuts and veggies in the mix. The sweet and sour chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and the sauce had a great balance of sweetness and tanginess instead of tasting overly sugary. The chow mein tied everything together with perfectly cooked noodles, fresh vegetables, and a savory flavor that made it hard to stop eating. The service was quick, and our food came out hot and fresh. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and checked on us just enough without interrupting the meal. The restaurant itself was clean, comfortable, and had a relaxed atmosphere that made dinner really enjoyable. We'll definitely be back to try more from the menu.

I am absolutely disgusted, my girlfriend and I ordered the sweet and sour chicken. The chicken was very rubbery and coated in more batter than chicken. We then opened the box of rice and we got an animal hair, which unironically looks like a hair of a dog or cat. My girlfriend is allergic to both which made her throw up. 10/10 would not recommend.

Don't go here for the ambiance don't go here to be nice and cool. don't go here thinking that you're going to enjoy a very scenic Chinese artwork type of place.. go here to chew on some really good Chinese American food. keep your head down. eat your food. enjoy it. feel full feel that you still got money in your wallet when you're done and get out until the next time. you're in a laundry strip ball between two other restaurants right next to a 24-hour laundromat.. you might see some homeless. you might see some larger women folding some underwear you might see and hear some arguments over parking. you're going to hear a lot of horns from the street or because people don't know how to come out of a parking spot. but you're there for food and you're there for good Chinese food and there's not that many in this area left

Perfect for Takeout & Solid Value! If youβre craving honest, no-frills Chinese food served with a side of genuine kindness, China Garden is your spot. The owners here are the real starsβfriendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about making sure every customer leaves satisfied. Donβt expect white-tablecloth fine dining; this is the kind of cozy, unpretentious eatery where the focus is on hearty portions, quick service, and wallet-friendly prices. The food wonβt dazzle gourmet snobs, but itβs reliably tasty and hits the spot. Classics like orange chicken, beef and broccoli, and vegetable lo mein are flavorful, generously portioned, and priced fairly. The fried rice is a standoutβgreasy in the *best* wayβand the egg rolls are crispy and packed with filling. Itβs the kind of meal that feels like a warm hug after a long day. Parking is available (a small lot out front), but truthfully, this place shines as a takeout joint. The dine-in area is simple and clean, with a few tables for those who want to eat immediately, but the real convenience is grabbing your order to enjoy at home. Pro tip: Call aheadβtheyβre lightning-fast with takeout prep! What makes China Garden special isnβt

My husband & I eat in restaurants frequently, and in many different countries. Today we had a terrible experience in this Chinese restaurant: Although they have tables and chairs for eat-in dining, this is obviously just a takeout place. The soup was served in a plastic take-out container, and the main dishes on a plastic plate. We both had the Wonton Soup, which had broth and wontons with almost no flavor. When I inquired about ordering Wor Wonton soup, which is the same basic soup but adding vegetables, chicken, shrimp, and pork, the man at the counter didn't know what I was talking about, and said they don't offer it. Anyone operating with normal intelligence and flexibility would offer to make it, charging the appropriate extra amount for the more deluxe variety with the added ingredients, all of which they have in their kitchen. The Triple Delight, a photo of which above the counter showed a generous variety of chicken, shrimp, and beef. My plate had 1 small shrimp, a few pieces of beef and almost no chicken, some bell pepper, and a massive quantity of hard, large broccoli chunks that comprised at least three quarters of the total food served. My husband ordered beef with sn
